MISSION STATEMENT FOR THE IKKJA
(Isshin-Ryu Karate, Kickboxing, and
First of all, I am thankful to be apart of the Long-Little Lineage. As you well know by now, Mr. Harold G. Long chose to continue his lineage through Mr. Phil Little by way of the USIKA. Mr. Little was promoted to 10th Dan and given the title of Hanshi by Grandmaster Long. These transactions were witnessed by several notable Karateka and by the Long family over a considerable period of time. The long family continues to fully support the USIKA and these decisions and can be contacted about these matters at any time. The Longs frequently attend our USIKA functions, our social outings, and many additional events that we chose to support.
Secondly, I would like to express how thankful I am to have Grandmaster Little as my direct Sensei, Leader, and friend. It is truly a blessing to serve on the Executive Board of Directors as Vice President of the USIKA with such a prestigious Board, overseeing some of the top martial artist in the world. Grandmaster Long was my father’s sensei beginning in the early 1960’s and I have continued to follow his lineage to this day through his designated successor.
Thirdly, I am thankful that the Lord has blessed the USIKA in a very unique manner and has inspired me to produce this mission statement that is as uniquely distinct as well. I believe that if we the Board Members are totally focused Above and on those people that the Lord has given to us as leaders, senseis, students, and members, in constant prayer and service, that we can offer the most effective organization in the world. Furthermore, we wish our fellow Isshin-ryu organizations well in their leadership roles and their service to their own people and hope that they will be blessed in whatever group of martial artist they lead.
Finally, I believe that the Lord will send us the specific members for the USIKA according to His will. Being the largest organization is not our goal. Rather, to effectively nurture each individual that has been sent our way. This approach has provided us with some of the most powerful and loyal leaders, students, and working members in the world. These leaders and members are totally dedicated to the USIKA in a most unusual way. I believe that the Lord gives us every member, student, and leader and in turn they contribute to the USIKA and its leaders in a very special manner. This organizational approach is the key to the success of the USIKA and we eagerly await considering you as a new member if you are led to our organization.
